Oluwaseun Solomon Akinlo

Oluwaseun Solomon Akinlo who studied Fine and Applied Arts at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State, Nigeria, has been leaving his mark on the art world ever since. Like other visual artists, Oluwaseun’s monumental body of work represents a microcosm of collective memory, visually offering a critical perspective on social, political, and cultural issues, challenging the viewer with his evocative figures and expressions. His work enables the viewer to listen to fascinating stories about various facets of human existence and interaction that may seem boring to an outsider by telling contemporary anecdotes about his surroundings.
As a studio-based and experimental artist, Oluwaseun has developed a passion for abstract expressionism and figurative art. His oeuvre encompasses paintings, vitrines, and an array of works on canvas such as drawings, acrylic, collages, and altered photographs. He sees art as a medium for self-therapy, that is why he explores various mediums and styles when creating. His source of inspiration and influence to paintings is through investigative communication he has with the society, culture, tradition, and emotional state of mind shared as he listens to the community.
Oluwaseun has exhibited in TabFamily Exhibition: CoolChange Contemporary Art – Australia 2022, 2nd Experience – Kokopelli Gallery 2021, Resilience Art Exhibition – Enugu 2019, Crowne Art Gallery: Upcoming artist 2018, ‘Twilight Life in My City Fest -Thought Pyramid Gallery Lagos 2018, ‘Twilight’ Life in My City Fest - IMT Enugu 2018.
